Healthy Liver
When we eat, food is digested in the mouth, stomach and intestinal tract where the digested food is absorbed into the blood stream, which takes it close to each individual cell. Food and oxygen are transferred into cells where nutrients are metabolized into energy, metabolic debris, carbon dioxide and water. It is the accumulation wastes which frequently interfere with normal cell function.
As cells produce metabolic debris, blood carries it to organs of detoxification, the liver, kidneys, skin, mucous membranes, lungs and colon. If these organs are filled with debris from teh cells, and before long, we have 70-100 trillion garbage cans completely full. Like the city dump being filled to capacity and not accepting any more garbage trucks. Then your home becomes overloaded with garbage and normal household functions are interfered with. Before long, the entire community has become bogged down. "Clean blood" then acts as a highway for garbage trucks which are dependent upon the organs of detoxification.
In the liver major detoxing takes place, removing preservatives, environmental contaminants, chemical pollutants, metabolic wastes, etc., from the body. As much concern should exist for the liver as for the heart. Care of this vital organ should be taken if hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, infectious mononucleosis or other liver damage has ever occured. Intake of anything which places undue stress on the liver should be eliminated, suchn as chemicals, synthetic foods, drugs, food additives such as preservatives, emulsifiers, stabilizers, sweeteners, colors, alcoholic and carbonated beverages, hair sprays, deodorants, etc.
One of the most important procedures for persons over 25 years of age is flushing the liver. After you gain approval from your healthcare provider, the flush should be repeated every 6 months. To do this, fast on organic and unfiltered apple juice/cider for 3 days drinking 8 ounces of apple juice every hour or 2 during the day. At the end of each day, at least 1 enema, preferably garlic, should be taken. On the evening of the 3rd day (approx. 5-6pm) 2-4 oz of fresh squeezed lemon juice mixed with 2-4 oz (virgin, organic olive oil) should be given. In 5 hours, another 2-4 oz lemon juice mixed with olive oil is to be retaken, followed with an enema in about 4 hours and/colonic the next morning, depending on the severity of toxic symptoms.
Apple juice softens any stones in the gallbladder and allows them to pass though the duct. Some poeple have passed up to 75-100 stones. Most people report report slight to moderate nausea when taking the oil-juice mixture, which slowly disappears upon sleep. Should vomiting of the oil-juice mixture occur, the mixted need not be repeated at this time. Often, people suffering from gallstones, backaches, nausea, sometimes for years, find gallstone type objects in the stool. If there seems to be a large number of these, a liver flush is best to be repeated every 2 weeks.
Using herbs that promote the flow of bile can assist in overcoming this condition. Dandelion, beets, barberry, Oregon grape root, and carrot juice can come to the rescue. Cascara sagrada, parsley and goldenseal can help the gallbladder, as well. Garlic, eaten raw or powdered and taken daily can make an outstanding performance. Equally parsley root or leaves are excellent for difficult urination, stones and obstructions of liver or spleen. Vitamins and minerals good for the liver are Vitamin A, B complex, C, E Choline, Folic Acid, Pantothenic Acid (B5), Copper and Sulphur.
